About Me

Hi, I'm Denise Martin, founder of Pink Street Travel!

For me, travel is about more than visiting new places. It's about the memories we make, the people we share them with, and the joy of discovering somewhere new.

The inspiration behind my business name is personal. My grandparents came from Portugal, and I named Pink Street Travel after Lisbon's famous Rua Nova do Carvalho, known as Pink Street. In April 2027, I'll be making my first trip to Portugal with my daughter, Devin — an adventure that makes this name even more meaningful to me!

I specialize in helping travelers turn their vacation dreams into reality, from ocean and river cruises to all-inclusive resorts, family vacations, group trips, weekend escapes, and custom itineraries. Whether you have a destination in mind or need a little inspiration, I'll help you find options that fit your interests, travel style, and budget.

With training and certifications from Viking, Norwegian Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean, Princess Cruises, Globus, Tauck, and other preferred travel suppliers, I'm here to help you navigate the choices and enjoy a more personalized planning experience.

I believe the best trips aren't just about where you go, but the memories you bring home. I'd love to help you plan an adventure of your own!

Your Journey Starts on Pink Street.

Travel Insurance & Protection

Protect the Journey. Travel with Confidence

You've invested time, excitement, and money into planning your vacation. While we hope every trip goes exactly as planned, sometimes the unexpected happens.

An illness, an unexpected emergency, a flight delay, or lost luggage can quickly change your travel plans. That's why considering travel protection is an important part of planning your next adventure.

At Pink Street Travel, I want you to feel informed and prepared before you leave home. Let's take a look at why travel protection deserves a place in your travel plans.

Why Consider Travel Protection?

Travel protection can provide valuable benefits when unexpected circumstances affect your vacation.

Depending on the plan selected, coverage may include:

  • Trip Cancellation: Reimbursement for eligible prepaid, nonrefundable travel expenses when a covered reason forces you to cancel.

  • Trip Interruption: Benefits for eligible unused travel arrangements and additional expenses if a covered event interrupts your trip.

  • Emergency Medical Expenses: Assistance with eligible medical expenses resulting from an illness or injury while traveling.

  • Emergency Medical Evacuation: Coverage for eligible emergency transportation to an appropriate medical facility.

  • Travel Delays: Reimbursement for certain additional expenses when covered delays disrupt your travel.

  • Baggage Protection: Benefits for eligible lost, stolen, damaged, or delayed luggage and personal belongings.

Coverage, limits, exclusions, and eligibility requirements vary by policy.

Understanding Your Options

Not all travel protection plans are created equal. Depending on your destination, trip investment, and individual needs, different plans may offer different levels of protection.

Some plans also offer optional benefits, such as:

Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR)

Some policies offer an optional Cancel For Any Reason benefit. When purchased according to the policy's requirements, this may provide partial reimbursement when you cancel for a reason that isn't otherwise covered.

CFAR benefits have specific eligibility rules, purchase deadlines, and reimbursement limitations. They are not included automatically in every plan.

Pre-Existing Medical Condition Waivers

Some plans offer a waiver of certain pre-existing medical condition exclusions when specific requirements are met. These requirements can include purchasing coverage within a designated time after your initial trip deposit.

If this benefit is important to you, reviewing the timing requirements early is especially important.

When Should You Consider Travel Protection?

My recommendation is to explore your travel protection options as early as possible in the planning process.

Some benefits and optional upgrades have time-sensitive purchase requirements, often tied to your initial trip deposit or first payment.

Waiting until shortly before departure may mean missing certain benefits.

Let's Talk About Protecting Your Trip

Every traveler and every vacation is different. Whether you're planning a Caribbean cruise, an international adventure, a family getaway, or the vacation of a lifetime, it's worth understanding the protection options available for your trip.

Your vacation should be something you look forward to, not something you worry about.

Because the best vacations begin with a little planning!

Before You Book

Some of the best travel decisions happen before you ever leave home. A little research and thoughtful planning can save time, money, and unnecessary stress.

Consider these tips when planning your next trip:

  • Think About Your Arrival Time: When comparing flights, consider what time you'll arrive at your destination, not just when you depart. An earlier arrival may give you more time to enjoy your first day.

  • Compare More Than Just Price: Look at flight schedules, baggage fees, hotel locations, cancellation policies, and what's included before making your decision.

  • Understand Your Deposit and Payment Deadlines: Cruises, tours, and vacation packages often have specific deposit and final payment dates. Know them before booking.

  • Consider Travel Protection Early: Some insurance benefits and optional upgrades have time-sensitive purchase requirements.

  • Check the Location: A hotel may look wonderful online, but its proximity to attractions, restaurants, transportation, and beaches can make a big difference.

Getting Ready to Go

A little organization before departure can make your travel day much easier.

  • Check Your Passport: Make sure your passport meets the validity requirements of your destination and has sufficient blank pages if required.

  • Keep Important Documents Accessible: Save copies of your confirmations, flight information, hotel reservations, and travel documents.

  • Check In Online: When available, take advantage of online airline check-in to save time at the airport.

  • Pack Smart: Review baggage allowances and restrictions before packing. Remember that airline carry-on and checked baggage rules can vary.

  • Notify Your Bank: If necessary, let your financial institutions know about international travel to help avoid unexpected card interruptions.

  • Plan Your Transportation: Arrange airport transfers, rental cars, or other transportation ahead of time whenever possible.

Airport & Flying Tips

Airports can be busy and sometimes unpredictable. These simple tips can help make your travel day smoother.

  • Arrive Early: Allow plenty of time for check-in, security, and unexpected delays. Follow your airline and airport's recommended arrival times.

  • Keep Essentials in Your Carry-On: Pack medications, important documents, valuables, and a change of clothes in your carry-on bag.

  • Download Your Airline App: Access boarding passes, flight updates, gate changes, and important notifications.

  • Dress Comfortably: Wear comfortable shoes and clothing, especially for longer flights and connecting airports.

  • Stay Hydrated: Drink water throughout your journey and remember to move around during longer flights when possible.

  • Allow Time for Connections: When booking connecting flights, consider the airport layout, immigration procedures, and the time needed to reach your next gate.

Cruise Tips

Cruising is one of my favorite ways to travel, but a little preparation can make the experience even better!

  • Choose Your Cabin Carefully: Your cabin location matters. Consider proximity to elevators, dining venues, entertainment, and potential sources of noise.

  • Book Popular Excursions Early: Some shore excursions and specialty dining experiences sell out before departure.

  • Arrive the Day Before Embarkation: Whenever practical, consider flying into your departure port a day early. It can help avoid the stress of flight delays affecting your cruise.

  • Download the Cruise Line App: Most cruise lines offer apps for checking schedules, activities, dining reservations, and important ship information.

  • Keep Travel Documents Handy: Bring the required identification and cruise documentation in your carry-on, not your checked luggage.

  • Review What's Included: Understand which dining options, beverages, gratuities, Wi-Fi, and other amenities are included in your cruise fare.

International Travel Tips

Traveling internationally opens the door to wonderful experiences, but each destination has its own requirements and customs.

  • Research Entry Requirements: Check passport validity, visa requirements, and any applicable entry regulations before departure.

  • Understand Local Currency: Familiarize yourself with the local currency and consider how you'll access money while traveling.

  • Check Your Phone Plan: Contact your wireless provider about international calling, texting, and data options.

  • Bring the Right Adapter: Electrical outlets and voltage requirements vary around the world. Make sure you have the appropriate adapters and converters.

  • Learn a Few Local Phrases: A simple hello, please, and thank you can go a long way.

  • Respect Local Customs: Take time to learn about local traditions, dress expectations, and cultural etiquette.
